Monday, April 20, 6:00 p.m.
Our incoming (July 1) pastor, Doug Barton, has already successfully led one congregation through the Fruitful Congregations Journey program. As excited as we are about the prospect of our church participating in this program in the near future, we’re too excited to wait! One of the seven books used in that program, “Get Their Name: Grow Your Church by Building New Relationships” by Bob Farr, will be the subject of a weekly book study starting on April 20th at 6 p.m. in the lounge. This book teaches us how to be effective as disciples, how to find a comfortable way to share our faith stories with people we meet, and how to invite people to come to our church without “seeming weird.” We encourage all church members to participate (we’ll move downstairs if we won’t fit!) Contact Marsha Baltzell or Kevin Bastian for more information, or check check back here as we finalize plans for this book study and discussion group.

Our church is responsible to provide food and serve a meal on the second Sunday of each month at the First Presbyterian Church.
There is a sign-up sheet on the back table next to the Flower calendar for people or organizations to fill in what month they can serve.
The Coon family graciously signed up for the Feb. 8 meal but we need people for the following months. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.

Windows Into Faith
Windows into Faith describes, explains, and reflects upon the theological significance of the 14 Christian symbols incorporated into the stained-glass windows of First United Methodist Church.
Citing biblical references, hymn texts, writings from great Christians, and stories from everyday life, the book lets light shine through these ancient symbols to lead readers into faith in God.
You may purchase a copy of this book during the week at the church office for $4.50, or by mailing a check for $6.00 (includes shipping and packaging) to the church (address is listed at the bottom of this web page). Be sure to include your name and mailing address.
